Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits rouge 2018, Domaine Henri Naudin-Ferrand
Region: Hautes Côtes, Burgundy
Grape/s: Pinot Noir
Production: Lutte raisonnée, hand harvested, natural yeasts, low sulphur
From vines close to the Domaine in Magny les Villers.
This is completely destemmed and spends 12 months in barrel, 22% new.
The nose has that classic, evocative Pinot note of subtle aromatics, spice, liquorice and blue and red fruit. The tannins and smooth and the palate fleshy with bright acidity. Great depth and richness but very approachable.
Like all of Claire’s wines she (and we!) recommend a decant if wanting to drink them now, to fully coax out all of their great charm.
