Chénas Les Petites Pierres Gandelins 2018, Domaine des Vignes du Maynes
8 in stock
Production: Organic & biodynamic certified, hand harvested, natural yeasts, zero sulphur, unfined & unfiltered
This is a new cuvée using certified organic fruit from two parcels in Chenas. Les Petites Pierres comes from 60 year-old vines on granite stones and clay over granite bedrock and Gandelins from 80 year-old vines in a south-facing vineyard on decomposed granite, bordering Moulin-à-Vent.
A ripe nose of red fruit, black cherry and wild strawberry with fresh earth and mint notes. The palate bursts with sweet fruit with lots of attack, bright acidity with a really taught, long finish. Elegant and silky textured. No added SO2.
“Rich aromas of cherries, plums, smoked meats and spices introduce the 2018 Chénas Les Petites Pierres-Gandelins, a medium to full-bodied, lavish wine with tangy acids and a wild core of fruit, framed by muscular but powdery tannins. Guillot produces this bottling from certified-organic grapes.” 91 pts.
