Monthelie Clos du Meix Garnier Monopole 2018, Domaine Douhairet Porcheret

Out of stock

Region: Côte de Beaune

Grape/s: Pinot Noir

Vintage: 2018

Production: Lutte raisonnée, hand harvested, natural yeasts, unfixed & unfiltered

This is a monopole vineyard of the domaine, meaning they are the only owner of this vineyard (remarkably rare in Burgundy). This is deeper and richer that the Miss A, with a darker fruit and more prominent structure, yet it retains that characteristic fragrance of Cataldina’s wines and is a remarkably fresh and lively 2018.

2019, Monthelie Clos du Meix Garnier, Domaine Douhairet-Porcheret

“Inviting aromas of blood orange, raspberries and plums introduce the 2018 Monthélie Clos du Meix Garnier Monopole, a medium to full-bodied, satiny wine with tangy acids and chalky tannins. It’s an elegantly fleshy but mineral red that has turned out nicely.” 90 pts
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
“This village vineyard is a monopoly of the domaine. Deeper and more purple colour, more structure here is evident even from first sniff. More in a fresh raspberry style. More body, but retaining the same fruit forward style, and excellent length. A little spicy note behind.” 89-90 pts, 4 stars
